Many emergencies require you to shelter in place. Hazardous materials incidents are an example of an emergency which may require you to stay-put. Your venturing outside or going anywhere may pose a great risk to yourself or your loved ones.
Osceola County shelters will only be listed here upon their activation. It is the responsibility of the citizens to check local television and radio stations, the Osceola County Public Information Office at (407) 742-0100, as well as your weather radio and other resources for accurate, up-to-the-minute, open shelter location information when needed.
Florida Statute requires county emergency management to provide the leadership and direction to effectively care for the community of special needs individuals in times of disaster.
This collection of videos, provided by the Florida SERT (State Emergency Response Team), will help to educate on the subject of preparing for emergencies for those with special needs.
